Dear parents of students in a french class,
It's again that time of year when the early plans of an exchange trip are being hatched. When nervous students and wary parents gather in the library to listen to Monsieur Zailian speak of waking up to the wafting scent of buttery fresh bread in the village he lived in France some time ago. Profiles will be sent, friends added on Facebook, and all I can say is just go with it.
On this blog I have decided to document as much as I can remember and reflect about my time within the France/America 2012-2013 Exchange within Tam High's Global Studies Program. However, if you read no further than this, just know that this opportunity is an extraordinary one, and I feel so fortunate to have been able to expand my sights past the immediate bubble of high school, of Mill Valley, and of teenage life. I made connections that will never be severed, I discovered interests I may have never known I had, and well..eh I guess I had an alright time. Just kidding (:
Enjoy these next posts - I apologize in advance for their length, but there's just so much to be said and yet still so much that is impossible to put into words.
à bientôt!
Sophia
